Where are you from?

How did you get started in broadcasting?
I worked as dogsbody for the Managing Director for Piccadilly Radio as it was preparing to start broadcasting in Manchester .

When was that?

Why News broadcasting?
I have always been interested in news and politics in particular

Where else would have viewers seen or heard you before?
Piccadilly Radio 1974-78 , 82-87,Granada TV 1987-94.

What is your Best on-air moment?
Breaking exclusive stories ahead of the papers.

What is your Worst on-air moment?
My first phone in on Piccadilly Radio.I was expecting the phone lines to be jammed and nobody called for 15 minutes!

What would you like to do before your career ends?
Interview the former Soviet leader Gorbachov

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Support Plymouth Argyle

What advice would you give to anyone that would like to get into the broadcasting world?
Get your foot in the door doing anything you can,and be realistic about your initial prospects.
