Sky Sports will broadcast the Masters Par 3 Contest this evening.
This is the traditional curtain-raiser to the first Major of the year, which is held on a par 27 nine-hole course within the grounds of Augusta National.
Wives and girlfriends, children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews-all happily serve as caddies – in this family affair.
Part competition, part stress relief on the eve of the crucible that is competing at the Masters, the Par 3 Contest dates back more than half a century.
The inaugural exhibition was held in 1960 and won by Sam Snead. The varied field consists of Tournament participants and noncompeting past champions.
But since the inception of this semi-social event, no golfer has ever won the par three contest and the Masters in the same year.
Coverage starts at 7.00pm on Sky Sports Golf and Sky Sports Main Event.
Non Sky Sports subscribers can watch all of the Masters for just £10.99 with a NOW TV Sky Sports Week pass.
