UPDATE: The Results of the draw are below

The draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup takes place today at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow.

It’ll be carried live on the BBC and Sky Sports, as the 32 qualifying nations learn who they will face in the group stage of the finals.

The teams will be split into eight four-team groups. Each team is in one of four pots, with their position in the Fifa world rankings for October determining which pot they occupy.

The exception to that is hosts Russia, who are in Pot One. There can be a maximum of two European sides per group, but no other confederation can have more than one team in a group.

The Draw

Group A:
Russia – Saudi Arabia – Egypt – Uruguay

Group B:
Portugal – Spain – Iran – Morocco

Group C:
France – Australia – Denmark – Peru

Group D:
Argentina – Iceland – Croatia – Nigeria

Group E:
Brazil – Switzerland – Costa Rica – Serbia

Group F:

Mark Chapman and Jonathan Pearce will front BBC Two’s live programme from 3.00pm, while Sky Sports’ coverage will air on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports News from 3pm.

The World Cup is scheduled to take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018, after the country was awarded the hosting rights on 2 December 2010.
