Beyoncé: Life Is But a Dream – Tonight, 10.35pm on BBC One

The BBC will broadcast a special documentary on R’n’B star Beyoncé this evening.

Alan Yentob presents this profile of the American star, who rose to fame in the late 1990s as one third of Destiny’s Child and has gone on to enjoy a phenomenally successful solo career.

The documentary, directed by Beyonce herself, is a multi-faceted portrait of the 16-time Grammy Award-winning singer, businesswoman, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, wife and mother that offers a rare insight into the extraordinary gifts that have made her a global phenomenon.

The film is made up largely of her own video diary footage giving viewers access to Beyoncé, and her high-voltage performances.

Beyoncé: Life Is But a Dream, Tonight, 10.35pm – 12.05am on BBC One.
