Channel 4 The Million Pound Drop Live with Dermot O Leary and Fearne Cotton (28)

Dermot O’Leary will return as the host of X Factor 2012, ITV have announced.
Throughout his successful tenure, Dermot has been on hand to guide the contestants from the moment they audition through to the nerve-wracking live shows – offering support, encouragement and a shoulder to cry on, as well as presiding over the Judging panel once the show reaches the live studio.
“I’m delighted to be returning to The X Factor as I just love the gig,” said Dermot.

“I hope The X Factor 2012 continues to bring a sense of fun to Saturday and Sunday nights and gives the nation a show that they can laugh, cry and sometimes scream at!”
His boss, Simon Cowell added: “Dermot has done a brilliant job for the past five years – he is Mr X Factor!”
Dermot and the Judges begin the Auditions tour tomorrow (23 May) in Liverpool – where Geri Halliwell will be a guest judge.
The X Factor is open to singers and groups who are 16 and over and in an exciting first for the series, acts can enter whether they are an amateur artist, have had a management deal in the past or have one now.

The series returns to ITV1 and ITV2 later this year.
