Dougie Poynter

HomeTV TalkDougie Poynter

Age: 23
Date of birth: 30th November 1987
Phobias: “I have got one huge phobia that I can’t talk about. It’s weird.”
Missing any special occasion? It’s my birthday in the jungle.
Relationship status: “I ain’t too sure at the moment. Ask her.”

Although he won’t reveal what his big phobia is, Dougie does admit he is worried about losing his mind in the jungle. “One of my biggest fears is losing my mind,” he confides. “I tend to over think a lot. If I let my head think for too long, then that is when the voices start talking!”
He also admits he is dreading jumping out of a plane. “I have sky dived twice and I have got it into my head that it will be the third time unlucky,” he says. “I don’t want to do that again. I hated the first two. Everybody has told me that it’s the most amazing experience ever but for me, the first two really sucked.”

As for whether he hopes his fellow contestants will make a fuss of him when he celebrates his 24th birthday in the jungle or not, Dougie says he’d rather they didn’t do anything at all. “I will be 24 in the jungle,” he says. “I normally spend my birthday somewhere weird like a plane. I am used to it. I don’t like birthdays, I don’t like the attention.”
