The producers of Glee and Fox have released a joint statement this morning regarding the death of Glee star Cory Monteith.
The 31-year-old was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on Saturday afternoon.
The cause of death was not immediately known, but foul play was not suspected. A post-mortem examination will take place on Monday.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person,” the short statement said.
“He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
Cory was dating Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry in the hit TV show.
