ITV will launch its brand new channel today, ITV Encore, which is dedicated to the best of contemporary British ITV dramas.
The channel will broadcast some of ITV’s most successful drama series of recent years, including Broadchurch, The Ice Cream Girls, Inspector Wexford, Undeniable, Vera, Scott & Bailey, Law & Order: UK, DCI Banks, Lewis, Midsomer Murders, Whitechapel, Mrs Biggs and Homefront.
From 2015, the channel will also screen original commissions.
ITV’s Director of Television, Peter Fincham, said: “Drama is a genre that we know audiences love, and we have worked with some fantastic talent, both on and off screen, to build a really strong stable of series and serials over the years.
“ITV Encore will give viewers the opportunity to revisit or indeed to discover, a wealth of ITV drama from recent times.”
In addition to being available on Sky Channel 123, ITV Encore will also be available on NOW TV, Sky’s internet TV service.
The channel launches at 7pm with Agatha Christie’s Poirot followed by a double dose of Broadchurch.
