ITV today announced a special one-off programme on One Direction.

The ITV2 programme will follow One Direction across the UK witnessing the hysteria as they launch their debut single in a helicopter, travel with them as they jet across Europe to see the huge impact they are having abroad, and return home with them to reflect on their new lives. This funny, exciting, and at times moving and poignant film, shows how five teenagers cope when their world changes around them.

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson were put together as One Direction at bootcamp in the 2010 series of the X Factor. They finished third and signed a record contract with their X Factor mentor’s record label, Syco Music.

The boyband released their debut single “What Makes You Beautiful” on 11th September 2011. It peaked at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. They will release their second single “Gotta Be You” next week, followed by their debut album “Up All Night” on 21st November 2011.

The hour-long programme will air on Wednesday 23rd November at 9pm on ITV2.
