Mrs Brown’s Boys will land the festive top spot in TV ratings according to Ladbrokes.

For the second year running the bookies are expecting Mrs Brown’s Boys to romp home in first place as the most viewed show on Christmas Day with odds of just 5/4, however the Irish matriarch is followed very closely by Eastenders at 2/1.

Miranda is fancied at 6/1, or there’s odds of 8/1 on offer that viewers tune in to see Peter Capaldi’s first Christmas as the Doctor.

ITV’s first entry in the betting is at 16/1 for Coronation Street to come out victorious, with Downton Abbey chalked up amongst the outsiders at 33/1.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Although the Beeb might be showing a lot of repeats this festive period, the odds suggest they’ll safely land the most viewers on Christmas Day with Mrs Brown’s Boys or Eastenders.”
