WWE suspends Chris Jericho indefinitely

World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended WWE Superstar Chris Jericho indefinitely.

In a statement posted on their official website, the company said:

“Chris Jericho has been suspended indefinitely due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24.

“WWE has apologized to the citizens and the government of Brazil for this incident.”

According to online reports – CM Punk was waving the Brazilian flag around the ring and Jericho took it from him, screw it up and kicked it out of the ring.

It is a crime in Brazil to desecrate their flag, so police stopped the event and gave Jericho a choice to apologise or go to jail. Chris told the arena he was sorry and the event continued.
