X Factor 2011: Big Twist Revealed

HomeTV TalkX Factor 2011: Big Twist Revealed

This weekend four of the sixteen X Factor Finalists will be going home.

On Sunday night, the mentors must choose three acts from their category they feel have what it takes to go further in the competition after all the acts perform on Saturday’s live show.

Every act now has one final chance to convince their Judge that they can win The X Factor and the three who do will go through to next weekend’s public vote.

The final 16 acts were told earlier on Thursday and gave the Judges a round of applause once the news had been delivered. They each assured contestants their decisions would be based on Saturday’s performances alone.

Gary Barlow said: “We thought rather than wait until Saturday night we’ll talk about the twist. This is The X Factor stage – it’s one thing singing by the pool but it all changes here. This is where stars are born, like Leona – it’s all going to feel very different on Saturday.”

Kelly Rowland said to the acts: “We want you to put your best foot forward, make the decision hard for us and let us know why you need to stay.”

Louis admitted it’ll be tough and said: “It’s a level playing field – we want to see your passion, we want to see a star, it’s all to play for.”

And Tulisa summed up the feeling among the four Judges promising: “Please understand all of you that none of us have made our decision. It’s a clean slate and we are making our decision as if we have never seen you before.”

The Final 16 are: The Risk, Nu Vibe, Rhythmix, 2 Shoes, Johnny Robinson, Jonjo Kerr, Kitty Brucknell, Sami Brookes, Amelia Lily, Sophie Habibis, Janet Devlin, Misha Bryan, James Michael, Craig Colton, Marcus Collins, and Frankie Cocozza.

The X Factor live shows begin this Saturday at 7.30pm on ITV1.
