X Factor 2011: Craig Colton eliminated

Home - Entertainment - X Factor 2011: Craig Colton eliminated

[[Craig Colton]] is the latest contestant to be voted off the X Factor, leaving five acts going through to next week’s quarter-finals.

On yesterday’s live show, Craig and fellow contestants battled it out in movie week. The acts then faced the public vote for the sixth time this year.

[[Amelia Lily]] joined Craig in the bottom two and the pair had to sing once again for their survival.

Craig sang Will you still love me tomorrow by The Shirelles, while Amelia performed Lady Gaga’s You and I.

The poll went back to the public vote after the judges failed to reach a majority.

[[Gary Barlow]] was first to vote: “Amelia, I felt like you shouted your way through that. Craig, I thought yours was understated and beautiful. The act I’m sending home is Amelia.”

[[Kelly Rowland]] said: “You did not shout your way through that song, you don’t need to. Craig I adore you and I love your voice. The act I’m sending home tonight is Craig Colton.”

[[Tulisa Contostavlos]] said: “I have to base it on tonight’s performance and I’m basing it on who’s performance moved me tonight, so I’m sending home Amelia.”

[[Louis Walsh]] said: “I loved Craig’s voice but we’re looking for a ready-made popstar and I think Amelia is a ready-made popstar. The act I’m sending home is Craig.”

Next week the acts will perform two songs each in a bid to see them through to the semi-finals.

Olly Murs, Jessie J and the X Factor finalists will perform on Sunday night’s results show.
