X Factor Week five: News in brief..
— This week’s theme is ‘club classics’. The 9 remaining acts will be singing some of the biggest club classics in a bid to see them through to week six.
— Two acts will leave the show in a double elimination on Sunday. Last year there was three double elimination shows, where the act with the least votes was eliminated, while the next two acts with the least votes had to sing again for the judges vote..
The full list of song choices will be released tomorrow afternoon.
— The final 16 will return to the X Factor on 20th November to perform this year’s charity single.
The single is a cover of Rose Royce’s Wishing On A Star. It’ll be released in aid of Children’s Hospices UK.
— Frankie Cocozza is once again the clear favourite to leave the competition this weekend, followed by Kitty Brucknell at around 3/1 and Little Mix at 7/1.
— The 2008 runners-up JLS and Florence and the Machine will perform on Sunday night’s results show..
BBC One comedy Still Game will return for a ninth and final series later this year as pensioner pals Jack and Victor go in to comedy retirement. Filming gets underway at BBC Scotland’s Dumbarton Studios and around Glasgow next month… Read more
