Four of the sixteen X Factor Finalists were sent home in tonight’s results show.
The mentors, Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh, chose three acts from their category they feel has what it takes to go further in the competition, leaving one act from each category going home.
Gary ditched 20-year-old, James Michael, who last night performed the Beatles classic, Ticket to ride.
Kelly said goodbye to the 16-year-old student and last night’s show opener, Amelia Lily.
Tulisa gave 2 Shoes – Charley Bird and Lucy Texeira the boot.
And Louis Walsh dropped serving soldier, Jonjo Kerr.
The final 16 acts were told of the twist earlier on Thursday and gave the Judges a round of applause. The judges each assured contestants their decisions would be based on Saturday’s performances alone.
Last night the acts performed the following songs:
The Risk – Plan B She Said
Nu Vibe – Chris Brown Beautiful People
Rhythmix – Nicki Minaj Superbass
2 Shoes – Girls Aloud Something Kinda Oohh
