Marcus Canty has been eliminated from the first season of the X Factor USA.
The 20-year-old from Bowie, Maryland has been in the final showdown for the past three weeks.
There was no final showdown this week, so the act with the lowest number of public votes left the competition straight away.
Upon hearing the news of his elimination, Marcus told the crowd: “Trust me, this is not the last time you will see Marcus Canty.”
His mentor, LA Reid added: “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little sad. I’m really connected to Marcus. He’s amazing. I’m not happy to see you go. I know you’re a major star and a great singer…You’ll continue to do great. You have my support.”
Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik will battle it out in next week’s grand finale.
Fox, Tuesday & Wednesday at 8/7c and ITV2, Thursday & Friday at 8:30pm & 8pm.
